Clippers, Spartans host football playoff games

At Eric Johnston Field on Friday

SUMMERSIDE – It’s playoff time for two Summerside football teams.
The Summerside Waterwise Spartans will host the Cornwall Timberwolves in a P.E.I. Bantam Tackle Football League semifinal game at Eric Johnston Field on Friday. The opening kickoff is set for 6 p.m.
The winning team will advance to play in the Ed Hilton Bowl championship game on Saturday, Nov. 2, at noon.

Also Friday, the Summerside Cooke Insurance Clippers are home to the Souris Wildcats in a semifinal contest in the P.E.I. Varsity Tackle Football League. The Clippers will be looking to earn a return trip to the Potato Bowl title game also on Nov. 2 at 2:30 p.m.
The Spartans and Clippers both completed regular-season play with identical records of 6-0 (won-lost).
Summerside will also host both bowl games at Eric Johnston Field.
