Is there any chance the Maple Leafs can re-sign Tyson Barrie?
“That’s a question I don’t have the answer to right now, other than to say we’ll use the remaining time that we have together to see if there’s a fit,” Leafs general manager Kyle Dubas said. “With our cap situation, it’s never so simple. I wish it were, but it’s not.”
Barrie is bound to get a lot more on the open market this summer than the Leafs can afford, and while he has not played to his potential, his departure would leave a hole on the blue line.
“He’s a great member of our program and adds a lot to our room,” Dubas said. “We really value what he brings on the ice and off.”
