The Colonels’ Emma MacKenzie, who plays middle and right side, and Bluefield’s Ashlyn Carpenter were named players of the match for the final.
Westisle athletic director Brett Corcoran was impressed with the calibre of play. “There were a lot of very competitive games,” commented Corcoran, who viewed the tournament as a very good experience for the Westisle Two entry that plays in the PEISAA Senior A Girls Volleyball League. It gave them an opportunity to play against AAA-level teams, and they performed well, he noted.
