CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. - The Sherwood Drug Mart Central Attack scored a pair of road wins over the Moncton Hawks in weekend P.E.I. Midget AAA Hockey League-New Brunswick Central Midget Hockey League interlocking action.
On Sunday, the Attack won 6-2 after a 4-2 win Saturday.
With the victories, the Attack (6-14-1) lifted itself out of the cellar and into fourth place in the five-team P.E.I. circuit.
Attack 6, Hawks 2
Four goals over the first two periods were all the Attack needed in the win at the Superior Propane Centre in Moncton, N.B.
Owen Matheson, Josh Lund (twice) and Emmett Lyons (1-1) scored over the decisive frames, while Teddy Robinson (1-1) and Matheson netted third-period scores.
Nick Reeves chipped in two assists.
Jaden Butland and Philippe Drisdelle netted the Hawks scores.
Aiden Rose earned the goaltending win over Lucas Burrows.
Central went 1-for-6 on the power play and outshot Moncton 42-27.
Attack 4, Hawks 2
Owen Matheson, Lukas Skinner and Emmett Lyons scored in the third period and Central scored itself the comeback victory.
Moncton led 2-1 after two frames on goals by Nathaniel Dryden and Nick St. Pierre, which sandwiched a Central goal by Nick Bowman.
Kaiden Chappell added three assists for the Attack.
Keegan Duffy tallied the goaltending win against Lucas Burrows.
Neither team tallied a power-play marker in a combined 17 chances with the extra man.
