During 12-dash matinee program in Summerside

SUMMERSIDE – Cartoon Daddy and Instant Shadow shared the fastest mile on Sunday afternoon’s 12-dash harness racing program at Red Shores at Summerside Raceway.

Both stopped the clock in 1:56.3.
Cartoon Daddy won the featured $2,350 pace in Race 11, finishing ahead of Salmonier Storm and Hearth and Soul. Corey MacPherson drove the six-year-old bay horse by Art Major-Ask Alice-The Panderosa for owners William Andrew of Calgary and Brian Andrew of Milton Station. Rachel Andrew does the training.
Norris Rogers was in Instant Shadow’s bike for the victory in Race 9 – an $1,800 pace. Positive Art placed while Coasttocoastshark finished in the place position.
Instant Shadow, a five-year-old brown gelding by Shadow Play-Ardor Chymes-Bo Knows Jate, equalled his lifetime best.
The Ultimate Stable of Greater Lakeburn, N.B., and Robert Kyle of Calhoun, N.B., own Instant Shadow.

Other winners on the 12-dash card were:
Flash In The Pang (2:01.3 – a maiden record), R Es Kate (2:03.2), Inspector Murdoch (1:59.3 – a maiden record), Ultimate Flyingnun (2:00.1), Hunger Pangs (2:01), Souverain (1:59.1), Slide Guitar (1:59 – equals lifetime best), Heart and Guts (1:59.4), Four Brass Starz (2:00.4) and One Tough Nerd (1:58.1).
Rogers, MacPherson and Jason Hughes all registered driving doubles.
The total wager was $27,538.
Live racing returns to Summerside on Sunday, June 17, with post time set for 1 p.m.
