SUMMERSIDE, P.E.I. — It will be a busy day of football for the Summerside Cox & Palmer Spartans, the Waterwise Spartans and the Cooke Insurance Clippers on Saturday.

All three Summerside tackle football teams will be on the road to play the Cornwall Timberwolves at the Terry Fox Sports Complex.
The Atom Spartans will play their first game of the season at 10 a.m.
Head coach Mike Miller has the team ready to go and said the players are very excited to play a six-man shootout-style modified game. The Spartans have been practising for three weeks.
Summerside’s home game last week was called off while Cornwall beat the Charlottetown Privateers on Sunday.

Bantams
The Bantam Spartans will also play their first game of the season on Saturday at 6 p.m.
Summerside coach Brian Goguen and staff have a roster of 22 players ready to begin defence of the Ed Hilton Bowl championship. After losing 10 players to graduation, the Spartans will be inexperienced, but they hope to be playing solid fundamental football by the end of the regular season.
Bantam football on P.E.I. features a six-man player format with 12-minute quarters.

Varsity
In varsity action, both the Clippers and Timberwolves are undefeated and there has been quite a rivalry developing between the two teams over the last number of years. This game, which is scheduled for 8 p.m., should be no different.
The Clippers edged the Timberwolves in last year’s Potato Bowl and this game will be another battle, which will come down to the final whistle
