CRAPAUD – It was a very productive weekend for the Southside Lynx.
The Crapaud-based team won back-to-back games, and moved into sole possession of second place in the Razzy’s P.E.I. Junior C Hockey League. The Lynx registered a 7-4 road win over the Georgetown Eagles on Friday night, and then prevailed 8-5 over the North River Flames on home ice Saturday evening.
The two wins leave the Lynx with a 14-7-0 (won-lost-overtime losses) record, two points up on the Tignish Perry’s Construction Aces (12-5-2). Tignish, however, has played two fewer games.

Lynx 7 Eagles 4
At the Three Rivers Sportsplex, the Lynx took period leads of 2-1 and 3-2 into the intermissions.
Drew Grady (3), Brady VanderVelden (1-3), Ryan Beckingham (1-2), Riley Payne and Cameron Nelson scored for the Lynx. Nick VanderVelden added three assists.
Ryan Osborne (1-2), Lucas Lavie, Derian Johnson and Dalton Kemp replied for the Eagles (1-17-1). Drew Christensen earned three assists.
Koby Bridges made 25 saves in recording the goaltending win.

Lynx 8 Flames 5
At the South Shore Actiplex, Beckingham (2-2), Brady VanderVelden (2), Nick VanderVelden (1-3), Payne (1-1), Rourke Perry and Tyler Jurkowski provided goals for the Lynx, who rallied with four unanswered third-period goals. Grady and Tyson Beckingham each picked up a pair of helpers.
Tanner Hood (2-1), Keirsten Steele (1-2), Brooke Soloman (1-1) and Brandon Watts answered for the Flames (7-10-2), who held period leads of 3-2 and 5-4. Ethan MacFadyen (4) and Blake Gallant (2) had multiple-assist performances.
Winning goaltender Sean MacPhee registered 22 saves.
