Amazingly enough, based on everything that’s happened in the world in the last 12 months, this week will mark the one-year anniversary of the biggest shot in Toronto Raptors history. On May 12, 2019, Kawhi Leonard sunk the Philadelphia 76ers with an all-time NBA moment. Leonard rose up, just evading the long arms of Joel Embiid and took a shot that needed four bounces off the rim to fall through.
But before all of that, some might remember that the Raptors had an earlier shot to knock the tough Sixers out of the playoffs and advance to the conference final for the second time in franchise history.
Coming off a stunning, blowout, 125-89 demolition in Toronto in Game 5, the Raptors went to Philadelphia full of confidence. But Jimmy Butler and Embiid had other plans. Those all-stars were incredible, Ben Simmons was really good and strong outings by Leonard, Kyle Lowry and Pascal Siakam weren’t enough. Check the highlights above, if you dare.
