They defeated the Fredericton Royals 8-1 in Sunday’s tie-breaker.
Ben MacDougall threw a complete game four-hitter for the victory. Summerside scored eight runs on seven hits and four Fredericton errors. The Chevys made two errors.
Summerside led 1-0 after the first inning on an RBI single by Josh Myers. The Royals tied it in the top of the third before the Chevys struck for four in their half of the inning to take a 5-1 lead they would not relinquish.
The Chevys will meet the St. John’s Capitals, the Newfoundland and Labrador champs, at 2:30 p.m. in the final at MacNeill Field in Stratford.
