Ravens 2-0 at under-14 Eastern Canadians

ST. JOHN’S - The Kevin Quinn Re/Max Ravens are 2-0 after the first day of play at the Easterns Canadians under-14 softball championship in St.John’s, N.L.

The Ravens opened the competition with a 10-9, eight-inning victory over the Kitchener Klassics. P.E.I. was down 9-7 going to bottom of eighth but battled back for the win.

Kylee Campbell was the winning pitcher. Ashley Cullen started the game and went six innings. She struck out 12 and gave up four hits.

Menna Mccabe led the way offensively, going 3-for-4 with four RBI. Sophia Jeffery was also 3-for-4.

The Ravens moved to 2-0 with a 12-5 win in five innings over the Southern Shore Crush.

Campbell earned the win, going four innings and tossing a three-hitter with six strikeouts. Ella Condon came in to strike out the side in the fifth. 

Ashley Cullen was 4-for-4 with two doubles, Kyah Kennedy went 1-for-2 with two walks and  Campbell walked four times.

The Ravens play Newfoundland and Labrador Three today at 10 a.m. Atlantic.
