P.E.I. outlasts Quebec at 13-under baseball ch’ship

REPENTIGNY, Que. – Team P.E.I. is off to a very respectable start at the Baseball Canada 13-under national championship.

Baseball P.E.I.

P.E.I. rallied with two runs in the bottom of the seventh inning with two outs to outlast Quebec 11-10 on Friday. That victory improved P.E.I.’s record to 2-1 (won-lost).
P.E.I.’s Owen Lynch snuck a single past the Quebec second baseman to score Cody McCormack with the game-winning run. Quebec had scored four runs in the top of the seventh to take the lead.
Colby Huggan earned the pitching win in relief of starter Jack Sherrington.
Sherrington, McCormack and Lynch all recorded a pair of hits. Kal White, who delivered a key two-run triple in the fifth inning to tie the game, was P.E.I.’s player of the game.
Thursday, P.E.I. defeated Ontario 11-4 and lost a tough eight-inning decision to British Columbia 9-8.
P.E.I. plays Saskatchewan on Saturday.
