Kensington Crusaders split games

SUMMERSIDE – The Kensington Crusaders split a pair of provincial round-robin games in the P.E.I. Mosquito AA Baseball League over the weekend.

The Crusaders outlasted the Western Mariners 11-10 in an extra inning, and dropped a 5-2 decision to the Summerside Team One Chevys.

In Kensington, winning pitcher Aiden Peters (3-3), Ian Folland (2-2), Pierce Saunders (2-3, double, home run), Matthew McDonald (2-3) and Owen Killam (2-3) were Kensington’s top batters.
Kale MacLeod (2-2, walk), Jake Rozell (2-3), Ty Perry (2-3) and Cole Pitre (2-3) were Western’s leading offensive performers.
Luke Hackett was the Mariners’ pitcher of record.

Although this game was played in Summerside, the Crusaders were the home team.
Owen Jones earned the pitching win over Peters.
Offensively, Tucker MacDonald (3-3, triple) and Kalen Bernard (1-1, walk) paced Summerside’s attack.
For Kensington, Peters and Nantes each had 1-for-2 summaries at the dish.
