SUMMERSIDE, P.E.I. — A busy weekend for the P.E.I. Islanders in the New Brunswick Junior Baseball League includes a stop in Summerside

The Islanders will host the Chatham Ironmen in a doubleheader at Queen Elizabeth Park’s Legends Field on Sunday. The first pitch of Game 1 is set for 1 p.m.
Gabe Penalver, Patrick Gallant and Alex Jabbour are scheduled to see time on the hill for the Charlottetown-based Islanders, who sit atop the five-team league standings with a record of 8-2 (won-lost).
The fourth-place Ironmen are 5-8.

Travel to Moncton
Saturday, weather permitting, the Islanders are scheduled to travel to Moncton on Saturday to take on the Mudcats (6-2) in a doubleheader starting at noon. This will be the first matchup of the season between the top two teams in the standings.
The Islanders are expected to start Nolan Hicken and Chandler Laporte on the mound in the two games.
The Islanders continue to be led offensively by Connor McGregor, John Savidant and Ryne MacIsaac. McGregor leads the league with a lofty .472 average. Savidant is a close second at .467 while MacIsaac also is in the top 10 and leads the league in walks and runs scored.
