CHARLOTTETOWN – Parker Gallant had a strong performance as he pitched 6 2/3 innings, and struck out 11, in leading the Summerside Chevys to a 10-6 win over the Charlottetown Royals.
Andrew Cameron earned the save for Summerside while Harrison Trenholm picked up the loss in the recent P.E.I. Midget A Baseball League game played at Memorial Field.
Cameron Murray batted 3-for-3 and drove in three runs to pace the Chevys’ offensively. Gallant (1-2, two runs scored) and Jonah Gallant (1-3, run scored) were Summerside’s other leading hitters in the team’s regular-season opener.
Nick Profit (2-3, double, triple, two runs scored, RBI) and Chase Costello (1-3, triple, run scored) were tops at the dish for the Royals.
