The recent victory improved the Chevys’ record to 5-0 (won-lost) in the P.E.I. Bantam A Baseball League.
Chevys starter Andrew Cameron earned the win, pitching five innings of three-hit ball while striking out five. Cory Evers pitched two hitless of relief, striking out four to record the save.
Ethan Bethell, in relief of starter Jacob MacPhee, took the loss for the Royals.
Dylan Gilfoy (2-3, two runs batted in), Lance Murphy (2-4, RBI), Carter Ripley (1-3, three RBI) and Hunter Irving (1-3, two RBI).
Bethell (2-4) and MacPhee (1-2) had the hits for the Royals.
Bantam A Chevys off to strong start
SUMMERSIDE – The Summerside Chevys broke open a close game by scoring three runs in the sixth inning, and three more in the seventh en route to a 10-4 win over the Charlottetown Royals.
