Arsenault tosses gem for Summerside's bantam A baseball team

BEDEQUE – Jordan Arsenault excelled on the mound and at the plate as the Summerside Chevys completed a sweep of two recent games in the P.E.I. Bantam A Baseball League.

Summerside Chevys

Arsenault allowed just one hit, five walks and struck out nine in a complete-game effort in a 12-2 road win over the Bedeque Blue Jackets. Arsenault also contributed a 3-for-4 batting summary, which included two runs batted in.
The Chevys’ other recent victory was a 20-10 decision over the Stratford Athletics.

Sam Gallant (3-3, four runs scored, two runs batted in), Andrew Murphy (3-4, RBI), Lance Murphy (2-3, three RBIs), Cameron Paynter (2-2, two RBIs) and Ty Newman (2-3) also swung hot bats for the balanced Chevys’ attack.
Zack Jones went 1-for-2 for Bedeque.
Colton Lowther, with relief help from Mark MacCormack and Jaxon Wood, pitched for Bedeque.

Gallant, in relief of starter Arsenault, earned the pitching win. Kaden McInnis and Cory Evers also pitched for Summerside while Caden Bryant and James Thompson worked from the hill for Stratford.
Evers (2-3, four RBIs), Dylan Gilfoy (1-1, grand slam, two walks, five RBIs) and Reid MacKay (1-1, two walks, two runs scored) were tops at the dish for the Chevys.
For Stratford, Bryant, Alex Beaver-Hounsell and Brandon Monroe all went 2-for-3.
