Summerside-based team picks up two victories over Kings County

SUMMERSIDE – Talynn Banks earned back-to-back shutouts to lead the Western Wind to a pair of wins over the Kings County Kings in P.E.I. Midget AAA Female Hockey League play recently.

The Wind won 7-0 at Credit Union Place, and then posted a 5-0 road decision at the Cavendish Farms Wellness Centre in Montague.
The two victories leave the league-leading Wind with an undefeated record of 11 wins and one tie.

Wind 7 Kings 0
Tianna Gallant (2-1), Hilarie Gaudet (2), Kylie Campbell (1-1), Emma Dyer and Gracyn Handrahan scored for the Summerside-based Wind. Paige Deighan (2), Kyrsten Coyle, Gracie Hackett, Keira MacKendrick, Josee Gallant and Caillin Gaudet chipped in with assists.
The Wind built period leads of 3-0 and 6-0.

Wind 5 Kings 0
Tianna Gallant (1-1), Dyer (1-1), Handrahan (1-1), Campbell and MacKendrick found the back of the net for Western. Josee Gallant added an assist.
Western led 2-0 after one period, and 4-0 at the end of two.
