KINKORA – Ty Arsenault’s dedication and commitment on the soccer pitch has not gone unnoticed.
The 15-year-old son of Derik and Shannan Arsenault of North Carleton has been awarded the Greco Pizza/Capt. Sub student-athlete of the month award at Kinkora Regional High School (KRHS).
“Ty had a positive attitude throughout the season, and was very easy to coach,” said KRHS soccer coach Rodney MacFadyen, who praised his keeper’s respect for coaches, teammates and opponents. “Ty was very committed to the team, making all games and practices.
“Ty played a major role in every game we played, stopping many shots every single game.”
Along with soccer, Ty, who is the Grade 10 representative on KRHS’s student council, is hoping to compete in flag football again this year.
Hockey, baseball golf
Outside of school, Ty is a goaltender with the Mid-Isle Matrix of the P.E.I. Midget AAA Hockey League, and he played first base with the Mid-Isle Mustangs of the P.E.I. Bantam AAA Baseball League. Ty also golfs in the summer.
Ty’s future plans, following graduation from high school, include pursuing a career as a radiologist.
