Charlottetown defeats Red Mudd One

CORNWALL – The Charlottetown Aces edged Red Mudd One 21-20 to win the 2018 Volleyball P.E.I. 14-under boys’ provincial championship recently. 

The five-team event was held at East Wiltshire Intermediate School. It was the first-ever provincial title for the Aces.
The Charlottetown Mumbas downed the West Prince Islanders 28-17 to claim the bronze medal.
The Aces advanced to the final by downing the Islanders 24-12, and Red Mudd Two got by the Mumbas 22-18 in the other semifinal.
In quarter-final action, Red Mudd One beat the West Prince Islanders 27-15, and the Mumbas edged Red Mudd Two 22-19
Red Mudd One finished the round-robin portion of the tournament in first place with a record of (4-0). Then came the Islanders (3-1), Aces (2-2), Red Mudd Two (1-3) and Mumbas (0-4).
Tournament all-stars were Caden Dawson (Red Mudd Two), Jonathan Hyndman (Charlottetown Aces), Matt Hardy (West Prince Islanders), Kaleb MacCormac (Red Mudd One) and Aiden Arsenault (Charlottetown Mumbas).
