Friends at a retirement centre in Newfoundland and Labrador extend our congratulations to United States President-Elect Joe Biden and Vice President-Elect Kamala Harris. Their outstanding victory in the recent election provides confidence, not only to the U.S.A., but on the global scene as well.

We characterize this as a boost for democracy, hope for the future and an established role for the Unites States as a stabilizing force for the world.

Many people like us crave maximum peace and tranquility for the world. In the past, the United States has been an instrumental force in providing world leadership and support toward that direction. Before the inauguration, in order to accomplish this, the Biden-Harris team has made it an imperative to select prominent and respected representation to be present at the policy-decision making tables, such as NATO and the G20 sessions.

Their profile and past experience magnify their status to the Biden-Harris team.

Although they will encounter some rough waters, we wish them a successful voyage in encountering those challenges.

Sincerely, your senior friends “from away.”
