I would like to start by stating my appreciation to Dr. Morrison and Premier King. They had a tough situation to face and did so with grace and strength. Between them and the willingness of Islanders to follow directions and make sacrifices, we are in a good place with this virus.
Among those sacrifices was not visiting our elderly parents and relatives even though in some cases they are sick or dying. We did this willingly to keep them safe. Now we are in a place where limited visitation could happen safely. That will not be the case if we open the Island to Ontario and Quebec residents.
I realize they would like to be here but their summer fun versus me visiting my mom while she is still alive is no contest. She deserves to be surrounded by family more than they deserve a vacation. That is only my opinion and I appreciate the opportunity to express it.
