I believe that it was a very bad idea for kids to go back to school full time, especially for high school students. Let’s say a student in university or college goes over to Moncton to a party and they catch COVID-19. They bring it back here but don’t realize it and go to a party here in P.E.I. and a student in high school goes to that party and catches it as well and brings it back to everyone at their school. Let's be real, nobody is actually social distancing and nobody fully always has their mask on all the time. Then that whole school is infected and if they have siblings in other schools, they can bring it to them and so on.
I believe that we should be going either half days, like half the kids in the school go in the morning and the other half go in the afternoon and switch the next day. This way there would be a fewer students, which would help in being able to social distance and space out the desks more. Or one full day with half the school and the other have that day off but with homework and the next the other half goes to school. This would also ensure better social distancing and desk spacing while also providing more class time. The last way that could’ve been considered was the whole school in one day and the next off completely, with schoolwork at home. This would ensure on the days off that the whole school is sanitized properly.
