On this very hot day, June 23, I had the occasion to sit on the patio of the Tim Hortons on St. Peters Road in Charlottetown. I was alone at the time and there was nobody else on the patio.

Two gentlemen on motorcycles, one of them wearing a Blue Knights patch on his back and a very well-known politician, walked up and sat down at my table uninvited. Now I will admit that I had a lit cigarette in my hand and had seen many others smoking there before. I did not see the tiny no smoking sign.

The gentleman with the Blue Knights patch on his back began to viciously verbally assault me. As I said, I did not invite them to the table, they did not purchase anything therefore they were trespassing. After the verbal assault the two gentlemen left. The politician said nothing. Not very good behaviour for someone who’s supposed to belong to the law enforcement community.
