LETTER: Jurisdiction issues

I agree with the lawsuit against Newfoundland over COVID-19 regarding inter-provincial travel. People are innocent until proven guilty.

I estimate P.E.I. will have to use the Notwithstanding Clause if Newfoundland loses. We are a have-not province, and doing what is politically popular comes at a price. The provinces didn't get together to determine a single method to collect and report data for diseases.

P.E.I. 's Achilles heel is the fact Health P.E.I. can’t obstruct people acquiring their medical records. This mean all records acquired by P.E.I. Health Authority has to be disclosed by anyone questioned about their status regarding COVID-19. People making applications and who are turned away have the right to acquire what information was acquired, how it was stored, who had access and the reason for any decision. The reality is it was easier to use science and test a person. However, inter-provincial travel being federal jurisdiction it is the province that has to justify testing and questions.
