It's now 6:23 p.m. Tuesday, March 24.
According to data on the coronavirus outbreak there have been no positive cases found on P.E.I. to date. The persons with it here were infected during international travel and notified the local authorities. Their situation is regarded as mild and they are self-isolated.
No cases of COVID-19 have required hospitalization on P.E.I. and the number of fatalities is zero.
This surely is a good news story.
Statements by our health authorities give the impression that our situation is dire, but the hard evidence to date does not support this view.
Naturally this might change in the coming days but let's inject some happy thoughts into a depressing situation.
