I read with interest, the front-page article expressing concern about dogs off leash in the national park (Breaking the rules, Nov. 17). I also live in North Rustico.

I, too, have a concern, and it is not something you want to read about with your morning coffee! I walk North Rustico national park beach daily. The concern I have is about the human feces I find daily. This is not occasionally, but daily! It is become such a problem that I felt perhaps by reaching out to you at the Guardian, you might publish this and shame the offenders into stopping this disgusting practice. The feces is always in the same areas, by the entrance to North Rustico beach lane way, in an offshoot/overlook off of the lane way, and on the beach at the channel into Rustico Bay. The human feces is accompanied by toilet paper, which ends up blowing in the wind. Nice eh? I thought so.

Connie Horn,
North Rustico
