I had another fan of my letters call me about the political cartoon (Friday, Oct. 9) that had the three federal party leaders, Trudeau, O’Toole and Singh spraying weed killer on a potted plant with New Green Leader written on the pot. My fan and I agreed that was in very bad taste and believe that none of these leaders feel this way. I contacted The Guardian editor and she explained that was not the intention of the artist. He was trying to convey that the leaders won’t withdraw their candidates, or quell the canvassing from the byelection in her district so Annamie Paul can have a seat in Parliament. Easy to misconstrue the intent.

Also, it was mentioned to me by the caller that we have two candidates with the same first name in the upcoming byelection. There is Zack Bell for the PC and Zac Murphy for the Liberals. Just a heads up on that for election day.

And, also, I heard on CBC radio that the Salvation Army store in Summerside is receiving nothing short of garbage donations, including dirty diapers! My goodness, the Salvation Army store is doing a good service. Do the same for them and don’t expect them to spend money getting rid of your garbage. Shame on you people.
