The following was printed in The Guardian regarding the Confederation Trail on P.E.I.: "P.E.I. budgeted about $1.5 million toward Confederation Trail maintenance for the 2020-21 year – $1 million of which went toward salaries. The trail network is about 430 kilometres long." (The right to ride, Feb. 13)
Could someone please tell me why a budget of $1.5 million is needed to maintain the trail? What does the maintenance involve? And perhaps, more important, why is $1 million of the budget for salaries? How many people does this involve? I would like to see a breakdown of this administrative cost. Think about it ... two-thirds of the budget is going for salaries. Is there someone who can explain the breakdown of this cost? Thank You.
