Warren Frederick Gillis

The death occurred at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside on Wednesday, July 11, 2018 of Warren Frederick Gillis, of Ellerslie, aged 63, beloved husband of Pearl (nee Wilson) Gillis. Warren was born in Summerside on April 13, 1955, son of the late Raymond & Ruby (Ellands) Gillis. Cherished father to Leslie (Bobbie Jean Dunphy), Summerside; Billy (Angel) Gillis, Ellerslie; Christopher Gillis O’Leary and Jennifer Gillis (Mike Crossman), Ellerslie. Loving grandfather to Hailey, Tyson, Carissa, Samantha, Jackson, Amara, Dylan, Carson, Carter, Selena, Trish-Lee, Travis and Tosha and great grandchild Amia. Dear brother to Wilfred (Patty Stevens), Kensington; Audrey Gillis, Kensington; Lorne (Ruth Cornish), Portage; Eric (Janel), Ellerslie; Alan (Clara), Alaska; Brenda (Randy) Wilson, Mount Pleasant and Darlene (Leonard) Bridges, Conway. Warren is also survived by his special nephew Martin (Chelsea) Gillis, Halifax; brothers and sisters in law Hilton (Rita) Wilson, Inverness; Loman Wilson, Miscouche; Gary (Freda) Wilson, Inverness; Lila (Norman) Tracey, Inverness; Raymond (Marlene) Wilson, Roxbury; Linda (Eddie) Rayner, Richmond; Irvin (Sheila) Wilson, Mount Pleasant and Edison Coughlin, Tyne Valley. Warren was predeceased by his parents, niece Shelley Gillis, sisters in law Blanche Coughlin, Katherine Wilson, brothers in law Kenneth Wilson and Fred Wilson. Resting at Ferguson Tyne Valley Funeral Chapel, with visiting hours Sunday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Funeral service held in the chapel on Monday at 11 a.m. Interment in the People’s Cemetery, Victoria West. In memory of Warren, memorials to Victoria West United Church or Cancer Society would be appreciated.
