Roger F. C.  Smith
Roger F. C. Smith, B.Sc., M.Sc., Ph.D. passed away peacefully with family at his side on June 16,2019 at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Charlottetown. He was born in Kapunda, South Australia on March 6, 1940, the eldest son of Elford and Norah (Sullivan) Smith. He attended the University of Adelaide, the Australian National University, and the University of Alberta, Edmonton, AB becoming a biologist and served on the teaching staff of Brandon University in Manitoba for over 30 years. He retired to PEI where he had a very active retirement enjoying all the things that he had no time for during his career - socializing with friends, painting, Tai Chi, golf, teaching and taking courses at Seniors College, line dancing and learning to play the recorder with Definitely Not the Symphony. He is survived by his wife Ann and his two children Cameron and Jennifer Smith, his sister Meredith (Rob) Willcourt and brother Stuart (Bilha) Smith. Also by his sisters-in-law, Pauline (Cleve) Baker and Paula (nee Champion) Ramsay, his brother-in-law Richard Bentley and his nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, his parents-in-law Bill & Marjorie Ramsay, his brother Grahame Smith, his sister Margaret Gail Smith in infancy and by his brother-in-law Douglas Ramsay. Resting at the Davison Funeral Home Kensington. No funeral service by personal request. A celebration of Roger’s Life will be held 2 p.m. on Monday, June 24, at Belvedere Golf Club, 1 Greensview Dr., Charlottetown.
