Peacefully, at Dufferin Oaks Long Term Care Home in Shelburne, Ontario on Wednesday, February 14, 2018, Edna (Cameron) Sheen, aged 87 years. Born in Arlington, Prince Edward Island and previously a resident of Barrie, Ontario, Edna was the daughter of the late Blanche and Claire Montgomery and cherished by her late grandparents John and Margaret Cameron. Lovingly remembered by her children, Debra (Bruce) Wilson, and George (Julie) Sheen, her treasured grandchildren Heather Sheen (Matt Austin) and Carolyn Sheen (Chris Walsh); and beloved cousin and “sister” to Glen Campbell. Predeceased by her husband of more than 60 years Doug Sheen; and beloved cousin and ”sister” to Jean Yeo. Many thanks to the wonderful caring staff at Dufferin Oaks and Montgomery Village Retirement Residence, Jennifer McCallum and Elaine Griffin of Alzheimer Dufferin, and the personal support workers from Compassionate Care/Comfort Keepers, especially Megan Vinen and our angel Joanna Norton, for making Edna’s final years as comfortable as possible and for supporting the family throughout her journey. Celebration of Life at Dods & McNair Funeral Home, Chapel & Reception Centre, 21 First St., Orangeville on Sunday, February 25, 2018 with Visitation starting at 1:30 p.m. followed by the Service at 2:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, family requests memorial donations to the Alzheimer Society of Dufferin County, 25 Centennial Rd, Unit #1, Orangeville, ON L9W 1R1 (http://alzheimer.ca/en/dufferincounty). A tree will be planted in memory of Edna in the Dods & McNair Memorial Forest at the Island Lake Conservation Area, Orangeville.
