The death occurred peacefully, and surrounded by her family, on Tuesday, February 20, 2018 of Annie Mary DesRoches (nee Bernard) of Tignish Senior’s Home and formerly of Harper Road, Tignish aged 100 years. She was born in DeBlois, P.E. on October 22, 1917, the daughter of the late Frank & Mary (Doucette) Bernard. Wife of the late Alcide Richard and the late Arthur DesRoches. Survived by her children Everett (Celina) Richard, Summerside, Angela (Cyril) LeClair, St. Felix and son-in-law Newman McCullough, Charlottetown.; step-children Eric (Bernadine) DesRoches, Leona (Bernard) Keefe, Aubrey (Isabel) DesRoches, Lloyd (late Lori) DesRoches, Joyce (Gordon) Brown, Anita (late Ulyse) Breau, Doreen (Armand) Arsenault, Dennis DesRoches, Edgar (Ann-Marie) DesRoches and step-daughter-in-law Anne Marie DesRoches. Beloved grandmother to Danny (Tammy) Richard, and Debra (Craig) Atkinson. Lovingly remembered by great-grandchildren Megan, Christopher, Alyssa, Erica, Cody and Nicole as well as numerous step-grandchildren and step great-grandchildren. Annie was the last surviving member of her family. Annie was predeceased by her parents Frank & Mary (Doucette) Bernard, husbands Alcide Richard and Arthur DesRoches, daughter Jean Richard (2017), sons Wilbert Richard, Valmore Richard and Edward (Rose) Richard; sisters Eva (Eddy) Arsenault, Zelie (Joseph) Arsenault and Philemon Bernard in infancy and step-sons Gerald DesRoches and Cecil DesRoches. Annie was a member of the Tignish CWL as well as a promoter for the Miraculous Medal. Resting at the West Prince Funeral Home, 522 Thompson Road for visitation on Thursday, February 24, 2018 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral will be celebrated on Friday, February 24, 2018 at St. Simon & St. Jude Church, Tignish at 10:30 a.m. Celebrant Rev. Brendan Gallant. The Tignish CWL will hold a prayer service on Thursday evening at 6:45 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial donations to the Tignish Seniors Home or to the St. Simon & St. Jude Cemetery Fund would be appreciated. Interment at a later date in St. Simon & St. Jude Cemetery, Tignish.
