SUMMERSIDE, P.E.I. — Mathew John Gallagher, 33, of Summerside has pleaded guilty to one count of possession of photos depicting child pornography and one count of failing to attend court.
The pornography charge is dated between Jan 26 and 30 in Summerside while the failure to appear charge is from June 27.
Gallagher was sentenced to a year in jail and 24 months of probation.
In addition to the jail time, Gallagher will also have his name added to the national sex offender registry for a period of 20 years, must submit a DNA sample to the national law enforcement database and has had restrictions placed on any interactions he may have with anyone under 16 years of age for the next five years.
