A woman has been taken to hospital with serious injuries Monday night following an apparent domestic dispute that ended when she was struck by a truck driven by a man known to her.

The man was arrested on scene and taken away in handcuffs.

The 58-year-old has since been charged with impaired driving causing bodily harm and refusing a breathalyzer.

He was held overnight and will be released this morning with an order to appear in court at a later date.

Reports indicate the man and woman were involved in an argument outside their home on Grandview Avenue in Paradise just before or during the incident. A neighbour told the Telegram she heard the two shouting minutes before the incident occurred.

When the Telegram arrived on scene, the woman was being treated by paramedics before being placed in an ambulance.

Shortly afterwards, RNC officers with the traffic services division arrived on scene to gather evidence. An officer was also seen interviewing a next-door neighbour.
