TYNE VALLEY, P.E.I. — It’s a big night for the municipality of Tyne Valley on Sunday.

The Final 4 for Kraft Hockeyville 2020 will be announced during the first intermission of the National Hockey League playoff game between the Toronto Maple Leafs and Columbus Blue Jackets. The game, which will be televised on Sportsnet, is scheduled to start at 9 p.m., Atlantic Time.

The announcement was scheduled to take place in March but was postponed due to the coronavirus (COVID-19 strain) pandemic.

The winner of Kraft Hockeyville will have the opportunity to host an NHL exhibition game and will receive $250,000 for arena upgrades. The Tyne Valley Community Sports Centre was destroyed by fire in late December.

Federal and provincial funding was recently announced for a new Tyne Valley Events Centre, and the money from Hockeyville will support the local community’s share of fundraising.
