STRATFORD, P.E.I. — Stratford RCMP is investigating a number of smash and grab thefts from vehicles in the past few days.
Thieves are often looking into cars to spot anything of value, such as spare change, phones, computers, credit/debit cards or an item the thief can quickly sell.
To add insult to injury, the damage that is done to a vehicle during a theft that involved smashing a window can often mean the cost to repair is more that the cost of the stolen item.
The best way to avoid theft is to remove any valuables from the vehicle or put them in the trunk out of sight.
