CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. — Charlottetown police issued 90 fines for speeding in September, down from the 128 fines officers issued the month before.
The 90 tickets were also down from the 108 speeding tickets that were written in July.
According to figures released by council’s standing committee on protective and emergency services, the hotspot in September was University Avenue where 26 fines were issued. Coming i
n a close second was the bypass highway where 24 speeding tickets were handed to drivers.
Brackley Point Road and Fourth Street, which connects the West Royalty Industrial Park to the bypass highway, were tied at seven tickets each. There were five fines handed out on Lower Malpeque Road while police issued four tickets on Queen Street.
Three speeding tickets were issued on Riverside Drive near the intersection with Murchison Lane while two tickets were written on North River Road and Oak Drive.
