Single vehicle collision in Charlottetown leads to drunk driving charge

A 65-year-old woman, who police say was drunk, lost control of her vehicle and struck three parked vehicles in Charlottetown Thursday morning.

CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. — A 34-year-old Charlottetown man has been charged with drunk driving following a collision on Thursday evening.

At 7:30 p.m. on Feb. 13, Charlottetown police responded to a complaint of a single vehicle collision consisting of a vehicle in a snowbank on Kenlea Drive.

Responding officers determined the driver displayed signs of impairment by alcohol and was arrested. He was not injured in the incident.

The accused provided breath samples almost three times the legal limit and was subsequently charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle.

He will appear in provincial court at a later date.
