MOUNT STEWART, P.E.I. — A 68-year-old Pisquid West man has been charged with drunk driving.

At about 10 a.m. on Monday, March 23, Queens District RCMP received information from concerned citizens about a man suspected of driving while impaired in the Mount Stewart Area.

Within a short time after receiving the complaint, police say an officer located the vehicle and driver.

A roadside breath test was conducted which the driver failed.

The man was arrested and brought to the Queens District RCMP detachment for further testing, where he provided breath samples more than twice the legal limit.

The driver has been charged with impaired driving. The vehicle was impounded for 30 days and the driver's licence suspended for 90 days.

The accused is scheduled to answer to the charges in provincial court on May 11.
