Police lay assault charges following three separate incidents in Charlottetown

CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. — Charlottetown police have charged three people involved in three separate incidents on Tuesday with assault.

A 66-year-old Charlottetown man was charged with assault after police were called to a residence on Queen Street at 12:40 p.m. in response to a complaint of men involved in an argument.

He was released from custody with conditions to have no contact with the victim and will appear in provincial court at a later date.

A 46-year-old Stratford man was charged with assault and mischief under $5,000 after police responded to a complaint at 7:15 p.m. of a man being assaulted by another man on Great George Street.  

The accused spent the night in jail and was released from custody Wednesday with conditions to have no contact with the victim. He will appear in provincial court at a later date.

A 20-year-old Charlottetown woman was charged with assault after police responded to a disturbance complaint on Belvedere Avenue at 8:25 p.m. involving two women.

She was released from custody with conditions to have no contact with the victim and will appear in provincial court at a later date.
