CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. — A P.E.I. man who was fined $550 for stealing liquor, missing two court dates and having a stolen credit card recently told a judge he didn’t plan on being there again.
Kyle Daniel Pollard, 29, appeared before Chief Judge Nancy Orr in provincial court in Charlottetown for sentencing after previously pleading guilty to theft, possessing a stolen credit card and two counts of failing to attend court.
Those matters were adjourned to give Pollard a chance to pay restitution and put money toward outstanding fines, which he did by paying $1,000.
During his most recent court appearance, Pollard told the court he has been doing a lot better than when he committed the crimes.
Orr told Pollard it is hard to give someone a fine when they have a large outstanding balance.
She also said it was more positive when a person takes advantage of the time they are given to work before being sentenced.
After hearing his sentence, Pollard addressed the court.
“I don’t plan on being back,” he said.
