CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. — A 75-year-old P.E.I. man was sentenced to eight days in jail following a second impaired driving conviction.
Ernest Roy MacMillan pleaded guilty in provincial court Monday to having a blood alcohol concentration that is equal to or exceeds 80 mg of alcohol in 100 ml of blood within two hours after ceasing to operate a conveyance.
MacMillan was fined $1,000 and ordered to pay $300 towards the victims of crime fund
He is prohibited from driving for one year and eight days.
Chief provincial court judge Nancy Orr told MacMillan he would have received a stronger sentence if not for the fact that he recently completed an addiction treatment program.
