CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. — A P.E.I. woman who stole items that included leggings and more than one Kinder Surprise was recently given a suspended sentence.
Amy Elizabeth Pickett, 39, appeared before Judge John Douglas in provincial court in Charlottetown for sentencing on the theft.
Crown attorney Lisa Goulden told the court that on April 24, Pickett went to a Superstore where she stole two pairs of leggings, a book and the chocolate candy.
Pickett was serving a conditional sentence at the time on other matters.
Before hearing her sentence, Pickett said she has almost nine months of sobriety.
“I have been doing good,” she said.
With the suspended sentence, Pickett will be on probation for nine months and must pay $75.98 in restitution.
