CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. — A 34-year-old New Brunswick man has been charged with assault after police responded to a complaint of domestic violence in Charlottetown Friday night.

The assault occurred just before midnight on Sept. 18 at a business which had video surveillance and captured the assault.

The female victim didn’t require medical attention.

Police said that despite the fact the victim was unco-operative with them and refused to provide a statement, they were able to lay one assault charge against the man based on the video footage of the incident.

The accused has been released from custody with conditions and will appear in provincial court at a later date.
