CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. — A 19-year-old man who was on a graduated licence when he was caught driving drunk was sentenced recently to one day in jail.
Tanner Crant appeared before Judge John Douglas in provincial court in Charlottetown where he pleaded guilty to drunk driving.
Crown attorney Jeff MacDonald told the court that on Oct. 20 at around 2:40 a.m., Crant was seen driving erratically on Sydney Street.
Crant later provided breathalyzer samples that were more than 1.5 times the legal limit.
Along with the jail time, Douglas fined Crant $1,500 and ordered him to pay a $500 victim surcharge.
Crant is also banned from driving for one year.
