CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. — A 49-year-old Charlottetown man has been arrested after assaulting a man with a metal pipe.
Charlottetown police responded to a complaint of the assault that took place in a business parking lot on University Avenue Tuesday, June 2 at 11:20 a.m.
The suspect approached the victim, struck him several times with the pipe then left the area in his vehicle.
The victim suffered minor injuries.
This assault was not a random act. Both men knew each other and there is no risk to the public.
The accused has been charged with assault with a weapon and uttering threats.
He was released on conditions to have no contact with the victim and will appear in provincial court at a later date.
