CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. — Charlottetown police responded to 10 complaints of possible impaired drivers over the weekend, two of which resulted in charges being laid.
A 29-year-old Cornwall man has been charged with drunk driving after police observed a vehicle driving erratically northbound on Brackley Point Road at 11:55 p.m. on Friday, July 10.
A traffic stop ensued, and police determined the driver was impaired by alcohol and he was subsequently arrested. He was charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle and will appear in provincial court at a later date.
On Sunday evening, police charged a 36-year-old Charlottetown man for driving drunk. At 7:50 p.m. on July 12, police responded to a complaint of a person possibly impaired leaving an establishment on Grafton Street.
Police located the vehicle a short distance away and determined the driver was impaired by alcohol. He provided breath samples that were three times the legal limit. He was charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle and will appear in provincial court at a later date.
