CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. — A 33-year-old Charlottetown man has been charged with theft.
While on routine patrol Dec. 11 on Euston Street, Charlottetown police located a vehicle matching the description of a stolen Dodge Journey and conducted a traffic stop.
The SUV was confirmed as stolen and the driver was arrested.
A male passenger that had been inside the vehicle and had exited the vehicle upon police arrival was also arrested a short time later for an outstanding arrest warrant.
The driver has been charged with theft of a motor vehicle and breach of probation.
The passenger, a 23-year-old Charlottetown man, was arrested on the outstanding warrant and charged with failing to appear in court.
Both men remain in custody and will appear in court this morning.
