Picture the village church, lights on, as the clergy readies it for Christmas Eve services; a one-horse open sleigh, dashing through the snow; young and old joining hands to sing “Let There Be Peace on Earth.” These are the images and experiences the Summerside Community choir will be celebrating on Sunday in the 2017 Christmas concert entitled “And on Earth, Peace.”

Choir director, Dr. Margot Rejskind, has arranged “a concert of Christmas peace, including old favourites, new classics, and the ever-popular singalong, as an antidote for the troubles of the world today.”

In addition to conducting the choir, Dr. Rejskind, a classical mezzo-soprano, is the choir’s guest soloist this year. Pianist Tanya Bernard accompanies the choir from Mendelsshon’s dramatic “There Shall a Star” to the simple but heartfelt “Do You Hear What I Hear?”

Join the choir at 7 p.m., on Dec. 3, at Trinity United Church in Summerside for an evening of Christmas peace.

Tickets are $15 and available at the door.
