WELLINGTON, P.E.I. — The upcoming Congrès Mondial acadien is launching an eco-friendly event guide to support its partners in adopting environmentally friendly practices within their workplace and community.
The guide will be a companion tool for host municipalities, family reunion organizers and all other partners of the CMA 2019.
“Sustainable development concerns each and every one of us – and that is even more true now with the urgency to adopt healthier, greener initiatives for the future of our children and grandchildren,” said Claudette Thériault, Chair of CMA 2019. “With the collaboration of our partners, we know that we will be able to make a difference for the environment.”
The guide contains accessible, feasible turnkey solutions aimed at reducing each organizations footprint through its regular operations and activities. It will offer ideas for initiatives linked to food, transportation and accessibility, waste, as well as awareness and support.
The conference will be held on P.E.I. and in New Brunswick.
Some partners have already voiced their interest in supporting this movement, including watershed groups, Eco 360 and the Kent Regional Service Commission (New Brunswick), as well as the Island Waste Management Corporation (Prince Edward Island).
The guide can be viewed on the CMA 2019 website at www.cma2019.ca/en/practical-information/eco-friendly-guide.
